Pistol Announcements

Please join us for an outdoor pistol and rifle range clean up day on Saturday May 5th starting at 9am.
The ranges will be closed for as long as we are working.  The more people that volunteer the faster it will go and the quicker we can get the ranges back open.
We will be replacing the backer boards and stringers as needed.  There will also be some brush clean up around the back stops.
Bring cordless drills and bits and trimmers for brush and we'll get it looking better.
Volunteers get time toward a reduced price yearly renewal!

If you have any questions please contact Dan Cole at 616-890-0665 or coledf@gmail.com,
or Gordon Elliot at 517-321-4323

(see the rifle page for more info on CASL shooting ranges)

The Plinkers Club meets on WED.  2:00 to 4:00. Plinkers meet at the inside shooting range during the winter - shooting 22 firearms.
We meet at the outside range during nice weather in the spring, summer, & fall shooting firearms of your choice (and what is allowed by the club).
Neil Skiver is  head of the club.

The Capital Area Sportsmen's Pistol Team is a member of the Central Michigan Rifle and Pistol League. We shoot .22 caliber target pistols indoors at 50 feet.

Our winter league shooting begins in late October and ends late April, with a league tournament held in the early part of February at the West Michigan Sportsmen's Club.  Practice nights during the winter are indoors on Wednesdays, 6:30 PM till 8:30 PM. CASL and Capital City 'HOME' matches are at CASL on Thursday's.

We shoot 15 matches during the winter league and travel to Jackson, Alma, and Ionia for away matches.

Contact the Pistol Director:
Gordon Elliott for more information.

The league just had our 6th match of fifteen. We have twelve actual matches and three bye matches.  For the Sportsmen, we have fired 5 matches with a record of 0/5 actual and 3/4 handicap scores.

For practice I have been at CASL every Wed. at 6:30 for those who show up.  I will do this until we are done with the winter league, then will go back to practicing the first and third Wed. until Oct.

Gordon, Pistol Director
